The problem
If you work in Vietnam — or hire people in Vietnam — you’ve probably dealt with this: someone offers you a gross salary, and you have no idea what you’ll actually take home.
Vietnam’s personal income tax system uses progressive brackets. On top of that, there are mandatory social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance contributions — split between employer and employee. The rates change. The caps change.
